Professional basketball is coming to Brevard County! In April 2002, the Brevard Blue Ducks will hit the hardwood for their inaugural season in the United States Basketball League (USBL), a 13-team league with a reputation as a proving ground for NBA talent.

Name the Blue Ducks mascot.
The Brevard Blue Ducks need your talent...to name its mascot! Beginning December 10, 2001, local sports fans of all ages are invited to submit entries in the Blue Ducks "Name the Mascot Contest." Sponsored in conjunction with Florida Today and local radio stations WMMB "The Sports Animal", WLRQ, what the heck are the rest of them?, and WMEL 920 AM, the contest will run through midnight December 23, 2001. Blue Ducks season tickets on sale soon.
The Blue Ducks will publish season ticket prices following the announcement of the team's home venue. Fans will be able to purchase single game tickets following the USBL's announcement of the 2002 season schedule in March. Keep watching for details.
