July 4, 2005 Blue Ducks take two from Dallas Brevard drubs Diesel in July 3 rd doubleheader Melbourne , FL – The Brevard Blue Ducks took two from Texas the hard way, winning twice in one day as they beat the Dallas Diesel 102–84 and 117-103 in a rare basketball doubleheader at the Clemente Center in Melbourne . John Lamers led the way with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Mark Christian, Jr. chipped in with 14 and Anthony Slater tallied 10 points and 8 assists as the Ducks broke open a close game with a decisive fourth quarter to beat Dallas , 102-84 in the first game. Dallas was led by Brandon Lee who netted 20 points. David John son pulled down 12 rebounds for the visitors. Dallas came out running in the second game, sprinting to a quick lead and leading at the end of the first period by 10, at 27-17. They grew the lead to 14 points before the Ducks heated up. Brevard then used a 35-point third quarter to catapult ahead of the visiting Diesel and hand Dallas its second loss of the night, 117-103. The Blue Ducks placed an amazing eight players in double figures in the second game, with Adrian Malcom leading the way with 18 points, followed by Reed Tompkins who had 17 on a dazzling assortment of shots. Anthony Slater had another strong game, posting a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists. He also had 6 steals. Brandon Lee once again led the way for Dallas with 27 points, followed by Kelvin Williams with 23. The twin wins moved the Ducks to 9-2 on the season, with four games to go. They play again Wednesday, July 6 th at 7:00PM when they take on the Orlando FastBreak at the Clemente Center in Melbourne . The Blue Ducks are hot, but that doesn't mean your soft drinks have to be too.
