Harlem Globetrotters sold out!
Tickets for March 8th event at Clemente Center gone, but
Blue Ducks taking reservations for next years tour
The Harlem Globetrotters game at the Clemente Center in
Melbourne on Monday is sold out announced Brevard Blue Ducks owner, Mike
Richman.
The response was incredible, beamed Richman.
We could have sold several thousand more seats, he added.
This just underscores our countys need for an arena. A larger
venue that can accommodate events like this year round.
The Burger King sponsored event is part of the Globetrotters
2004 World Tour. During the North American leg of the world tour, the
Globetrotters will have traveled to 45 states, Canada and the District
of Columbia, playing in over 200 games in four months - in venues mostly
much larger than Brevards. Thats left a lot of Brevardians
without the opportunity to see them play this time around.
The Blue Ducks are now taking reservations for next years
event.
We still have plenty of good basketball for people
to see, said Richman, referring to the upcoming season for the Brevard
Blue Ducks.
The Blue Ducks begin their third season of USBL action
at Florida Tech on April 22nd.
The Blue Ducks are a member of the United States Basketball
League (USBL), which serves as a minor league to the NBA. In its 19-year
existence, over 140 players have graduated from the USBL to the NBA. Stars
such as Avery Johnson, Spud Webb, Manute Bol, Mugsy Bouges, Chris Childs,
Anthony Mason and Darrell Armstrong all got their start in the USBL.
Tickets, which start at $8.00 can be purchased by
visiting the Blue Ducks website at www.BrevardBlueDucks.com or calling
(321) 751-BLUE (2583).
