Harvey Grant, Head Coach

Drafted by Washington Bullets as the 12th overall pick of the 1988 NBA Draft. He started the last 22 games of the season and averaged 16.9 points in those games. He scored in double figures 29 times, 18 as a starter, and posted overall averages of 8.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in 81 contests. His highest scoring game for the Bullets that season was for 24 points against the Warriors. Grant became a fixture in the Bullets starting line-up, starting 76 out of 77 games. He finished second on the team in scoring and rebounding by averaging 18.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. Basketball Digest named him the NBA's Most Improved Player and he finished fourth in the league wide voting for the same award. Grant scored in double figures in 73 games and scored more then 20 points 29 times.

Derek Howard, Assistant Coach

Played collegiately at McMaster University 1989-93, He was a 2 time OUTAA All-Star, '92, '93. Coached at Vero Beach HS 1996-97, Countryside HS, 1994 - 95 and Melbourne Central Catholic 1999 - 02. His overall record is 77 - 45. Ass't coach at Belmont Abbey College, 1995, 96. He was regional scout for Florida Sharks(USBL) in 1996.

The USBL's head coaches come from the ranks of basketball's finest players and coaches, including 14-year NBA star Darryl "Chocolate Thunder" Dawkins of the Pennsylvania Valley Dawgs and the legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar of the Oklahoma Storm. Coach Dawkins is in his fourth season with the Valley Dawgs, guiding one of the League's most successful franchises to the 2001 USBL Championship, while Kareem begins his first season at the helm of the Storm.
